There are strict guidelines as to how the logo may be used.

Please read HR excellence in research logo - guidelines for use (PDF)

Departments are encouraged to display the logo and/or refer to the award as evidence of the University’s commitment to supporting its researchers:

  • in grant applications. It is particularly advised that the badge be displayed or referred to in European grant applications, and RCUK are expecting to see Universities gaining the badge as a sign that they are actively implementing the Research Concordat;
  • on your web pages. Minimum sizes are explained in the guidelines for use document. The logo must link to the 'home' page describing the scheme
  • in other materials for current and prospective research staff. When used in printed materials the document must include this full sentence ‘A UK-wide process, incorporating the QAA Code of Practice for Research Degree Programmes and the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers, enables institutions to gain the European Commission’s ‘HR excellence in research’ badge, acknowledging alignment with the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and Code of Conduct for their Recruitment’

The HR Excellence in Research logo will be used across a range of University websites including the HR Support, Professional and Organisational Development, Research Services and Careers Service.
