Holiday pay for part-year workers - survey

In light of recent employment case law we are reviewing our arrangements for calculating holiday pay for part-year workers such as variable hours and term-time only employees, and casual workers and casual teaching staff. 

In order to better understand current departmental practice we have compiled a short survey, which should take no more than 15 minutes to complete.

HAFs are asked to identify a member of their HR team who has responsibility for holiday calculation and pay arrangements for these groups, and to ask them to complete the survey by 12 July 2023.

The person completing the survey will need to understand:

  • the types of part-year staff that you engage
  • your arrangements for contracting with these staff, and
  • how you calculate, record and pay holiday.  

Only one response per department is required.
