Early pay uplift for non-clinical staff following national pay negotiations

Revised salary and grading structures now available

The revised salary and grading structures for both February and August 2023 are now available from the Pay awards webpage

This year’s pay award for University staff (excluding those in clinical roles who are covered by separate pay negotiations) ensures a minimum pay uplift of 5%, with staff earning £30,502 or less receiving up to 7%.

Following negotiations, the Universities and Colleges Employers' Association (UCEA) has confirmed this year’s pay award will be made in two parts:

  1. An early uplift of £1,000 on each pay point, or 2% (whichever is greater) will take effect from 1 February 2023. This will be paid on April pay day (27 April).
  2. The remainder of the uplift (3%, or whatever is left) will take effect from 1 August. This will be paid on August pay day (30 August).

This incorporates the increase to the Oxford Living Wage, which is set at £11.35 from 1 April 2023.

The pay award is being implemented for all University staff (excluding those in clinical roles who are covered by separate pay negotiations). Colleges will make separate arrangements as necessary.
